Things to Know Before Visiting Frigiliana, Spain 🇪🇸 🏔️ Steep Streets Frigiliana is built on a hillside with very steep, narrow streets. Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes as many paths are cobblestone and can be slippery, especially after rain. 🚗 Parking Parking inside the village is extremely limited. Use the public parking lots at the entrance of town and walk in, or arrive early to find a spot. 🚌 Bus If not driving, regular buses connect Frigiliana to Nerja (the nearest beach town), but they don't run very late at night. Check the schedule if planning evening activities outside the village. 📱 Photos Frigiliana is consistently rated one of Spain's prettiest villages. The white houses with colorful flower pots make for incredible photos, especially during golden hour. 🥘 Local Food Try miel de caña (sugarcane honey) which is produced locally and used in many traditional desserts. The village is famous for this sweet specialty. 🍷 Sweet Wine Sample the local sweet wines made from muscatel grapes grown on the steep hillsides around the village. Many bars offer tastings. 🏺 Moorish History The old Moorish quarter (Barribarto) has a fascinating history.
